This won't be a trend, it has just been a crazy past two weeks, with the holiday season in full swing in the coming weeks expect to see more posts as I have more free time to dedicate to this.
On another note, any NFL football game that happens on a Thursday isn't real. Those wins or losses shouldn't count on a team's record. I don't know who thought this would a great marketing idea, but Jesus. Terrible. And who owns the NFL Network anyway?
As always winning teams in CAPS:
REDSKINS (+11) over Cowboys
Expect to see a mediocre Redskin team on an upswing beat the spread against a mediocre Cowboys team on a downswing.
LIONS (-3.5) over Browns
Just an awful game.
NINERS (+6) over Packers
Vernon Davis goes crazy against a bad Packers team. Maybe just because they've been successful on some level for so long most people assume that the Packers are good every year. It's what I call the Yankee effect. If you are good long enough the sports nation in general just assumes you are a good.
STEELERS (-10) over Chiefs
Milk the train while you still got it Cassel.
GIANTS (-6.5) over Falcons
After 2 weeks of rest and relaxation, look for the GMen to be back for real this time. I still hate Eli.
SAINTS (-11) over Bucs
I don't know much about Drew Brees but I do know this: he was pissed about last weeks near loss to the Rams. He will not let this be a close one.
BILLS (+8.5) over Jags
I just confused by this game. Don't know who to pick, but I think the Bills can cover the spread. Maybe?
RAVENS (+1.5) over Colts
This is the hangover loss. The Colts and Manning gave it everything to eek out a 1 point win against an old Patriots team, the tank is empty.
VIKINGS (-10.5) over Seahawks
The Vikings are legit this year, I'm excited to watch a Saints v. Vikings NFC battle come December.
RAMS (+9) over Cards
Rams looked like they had some life last week. I got my eye on Mark Bulger to possibly carry on the not suckiness this week.
JETS (+10.5) over Pats
Time to move on Belichick
BENGALS (-9.5) over Raiders
Sweet mother of God this will be a barn burner, except the Raiders will be in the barn.
CHARGERS (-3) over Broncos
Couldn't care less about these two teams. But the Broncos are struggling.
EAGLES (-3) over Bears
The Eagles should have NO PROBLEM taking out this baaaaad Bears team. They better not.
TITANS (+4.5) over Texans
Which Titans team shows up? No idea, but they cover the spread.
REDSKINS (+11) over Cowboys
Expect to see a mediocre Redskin team on an upswing beat the spread against a mediocre Cowboys team on a downswing.

Who are you trying to kid? Youve been busy playing MW2 all week. Those thursday games do count. They are a tad more important than our college dodgeball games were. I liked the majority of the pics this week. Too bad danny forgot!
ReplyDeleteLet's see, where to start? The NFL has been playing Thursday games since 1922 (you could look it up) BEFORE the NFL Network began. In fact, before TV, which began in 1929. They are real games and they do count even though you waited to put your picks in until the very last moment. Now on to the picks:
ReplyDelete-The Eagles had to come from behind on a Bears team with a clown QB who overthrew not one, not two but three wide open receivers for touchdowns, including the worlds fastest human being outside of U. Bolt. Wow, how bad is he?
-The Titans did show up but luckily won anyway because the Texans kicker choked. The Titans should take 80's 49ers along with them if they really want to have a chance.
-"Time to move on Belichek". Yeah, to the Hall of Fame. Nice.
-Steelers beat the Chiefs. Well, we all got that one wrong but it's time to stop picking the home front favorite.
-Ravens over Colts. Whoops.
-Redskins lose again!
-Bengals over Raiders? Yo did we get any right this week?
-Lions win in an absolutely great and gutty game by their Rookie QB.
-Okay, that's enough punishment for one week.
