Finding your balance

Ok, guilty as charged - we haven't posted in a while. However, I felt compelled to post my thoughts after this week in football.

The NFL is better than your favorite professional sport.

Unless, of course, it's the NFL.

In the AFC, two teams have clinched the playoffs, and ten (I REPEAT, TEN) teams are 'in the hunt' for a playoff spot. Ten? Are you serious? That's AWESOME! And we're not in week 11, where it is sensible for ten teams to be in the hunt: nay, we just finished (yes, I write this as the Redskins trot off the field to the tune of 45-12) week 15. WEEK 15?!

Hopefully my capitalized words and exclamation points convey my excitement for such a situation. These next two weeks will be epic in the AFC, as the NFC is mostly squared away. However, that is not to say that the NFC is 'predictable', because four teams are battling for the last two spots.

The previously mentioned fourteen teams competing for a playoff spot are my evidence for the NFL's superiority among professional sports: nearly half the league can make the playoffs. Nearly half the league can win the Super Bowl. At this point in any other season of any other professional sport (15 / 17 = 88.2352941% complete), I dare someone to argue that( 14 / 32 =) 43.75% of the league are potential 'playoff contenders'.

Those numbers help me to find my point, and they help the NFL to find their enormous fanbase.

And that's finding your balance in sports.
